How did your dental Root Canal feel like ?
I went to the dentist to check up on a cavity in my lower right molar. It's a big cavity and the dentist says I need a Root Canal to fix it. It sounds very painful. How was your experience like ?

- I have always been told the horror stories about root canals. I went in 2 weeks ago for 4 of them in the same day and was terrified. The whole process just flew by and there was no pain during the whole thing. once the numbing stuff they use wears off it will be a little sore(different with each person) but that only lasted about an hour. They will give you(Or tell you what you can buy depending on ur insurance) some pain medication. All in all, i prefered the root canal over getting my temp crowns takin off (thats the scary part. they get a hammer type tool with a icepick type tool and have to chip off pieces of the temp crown. its just the feeling of it chipping that is kinda creepy, but again no pain whatsoever.) Just dont dwell on the root canal and it will be fine, just go in thinkin its another normal dentist visit that may last a tiny bit longer. just close ur eyes and let them do there magic. Will be fine =)
- Oh let me tell you, I have been terrified to death about dentists. But, I have managed to meet some who have calmed me about many of my fears. Several weeks ago I had a root canal done on a lower right molar of mine. I was fairly calm about it - I didn't even take a valium that morning, because I told myself it was not a big deal. But once I sat in the dental chair, my nerves skyrocketed and I got horrible shakes. They covered me with a blanket and gave me a gel pillow to relax. The novacaine they did on the inside of my mouth, barely pinched, surprisingly! And once they got started, I thought the ONLY bad part was me holding my mouth open for roughly 30 minutes, without closing it. Everything does not hurt and the time flies! I was bothered by the light pressure I felt around my molar, where they have to put the 'clamp' to hold your tooth. It has a screen that covers the other teeth, so the dentist can focus in on your 'root canal' tooth. After the novacaine wore off about 4 hours later, I had ZERO pain and went out and about with my day. Good luck!
- I didn't really feel anything and I have a low tolerance for pain. I actually watched videos on youtube about root canals so I could see what they were gonna do to me. When I got there and I started seeing things that were in the videos I wasn't really scared anymore. It didn't even take that long. People tell you it hurts but it really doesn't.
- no pain at all. i had 4 root canals and now i have rods inserted in my gums, 4 to be exact for my 4 fake teeth and im only 15 ( and i have sjorgren's disease so i do take care of my teeth so dont think i dont take care of my teeth lol)
