Dental Scaling

Dental Scaling - Is Medical Irrigation a Scam?

My insurance company doesn't cover medical irrigation as it is not necessary with dental scaling. Is medical irrigation during a dental scaling a "scam" for extra fees by dentists? Is it necessary or can I go without it.

  1. I wouldn't call it a scam, but it is not absolutely necessary. You can get results without it.
  2. No, it makes things easier to avoid fluid buildup. Your insurance is retarded... That's the most ridiculous thing not to cover I've ever heard.
  3. No it isn't a scam. It is actually a real dental code. Your insurance may not pay for it just because it isn't on your list of covered benefits. However, many offices do this irrigation after deep cleaning.
  4. loooooooool i think its scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam lol
