Dental Scaling - Is Medical Irrigation a Scam?
My insurance company doesn't cover medical irrigation as it is not necessary with dental scaling. Is medical irrigation during a dental scaling a "scam" for extra fees by dentists? Is it necessary or can I go without it.

- I wouldn't call it a scam, but it is not absolutely necessary. You can get results without it.
- No, it makes things easier to avoid fluid buildup. Your insurance is retarded... That's the most ridiculous thing not to cover I've ever heard.
- No it isn't a scam. It is actually a real dental code. Your insurance may not pay for it just because it isn't on your list of covered benefits. However, many offices do this irrigation after deep cleaning.
- loooooooool i think its scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam lol
